We normally see that monthly plans of mostly all Internet Service Providers includes 28 days not 30 days.

Have you ever thought what is the reason behind this ?

Lets Find out.

We have merely 3-4 internet service providers in India Example: Airtel, Jio, Vodafone-Idea, BSNL etc. Although after the enter of Jio in telecom sector, the rates of internet plans got down but the days factor remains the same which is 28 days (1 months plan)

We have 30/31 days in a month but service providers provides only 28 days of data in the name of whole month.

Scenario 1

Lets assume, company is providing 31 days validity, then a consumer have to recharge 12 times in a year. which approx. cost 2,400 Rs. (assuming monthly fee is 200/- Rs.)

Scenario 2

But, when it comes to 28 days, consumer have to recharge 13 times in a year (365/28 = 13.035)

It means, Telecom companies receives one months extra amount if they choose 28 day plan.
As earlier, if 200 Rs. from a single consumer, then just think how much they are earning from millions of subscribers.

Its like the 1 Rs. Marketing strategy where companies usually tags the price of product below rounding figure eg. 9,999 Rs., 4,999 Rs. etc.
They think that consumer will not going to ask for 1 Rs. change and they can earn extra 1 Rs.from a customer (Million of Rs. from millions of customers per day)
