What is CCTV??

The CCTV stand for Closed-Circuit Television as we know the CCTV cameras help us to records videos and pictures at specific place of people or things. The CCTV cameras use on homes, offices, hospitals, shops, schools, roads and many more places. And if we want, we can place CCTV camera anywhere. Now, we going to know about types of CCTV and how it’s work?

Basically two types of CCTV cameras stands in our market one is network based, which always connects and controls with a specific network with the help of internet. And you can also see their footage at anytime and anywhere with it’s unique IP address or MAC address. The second type of CCTV camera is also connected with network but the network is local network area. it is not allowing to access or control cameras to anywhere and you can never seen their footage anytime. If you want to see their footage or want to access it, you can first go to their CCTV control room. Which is specially created for CCTV controllers.

Today we can see CCTV Cameras everywhere on the Roads, Buildings, Schools, Shopping Complexes, Offices etc. CCTV Cameras ensure security when a person is not able to physically present at selected locations 24 X 7. It also gives the wide range of Coverage than a normal Human Being & Recorded Footage helps to catch Thieves & can use as a Valid Evidence of Crime/Accident.

But have you ever noticed: Why CCTV Cameras record Videos in Low Quality & Why Maximum CCTV Cameras Records in Black & White ?

Lets understand with an Example:

Lets Suppose you are using a 13 MP Camera on Mobile Phone. You have recorded a 10 Min Video (1 Hour = 6 Videos) (Color Video). This will consume 500 MB of your storage.

Now suppose, you have recorded the Video for 24 Hours Continuedly with the same phone (6*24) = 144 Videos which will consume storage of 72,000 MB (70 GB). Your phone will not able to Handle this number of Storage on Daily Basis. You need High Storage to save the Videos

Now, come to the CCTV Case. There's always a Storage box for each CCTV Camera's Footage to store the recorded Data. As per the above Example, It is not possible to Record Color Video & High Quality Videos through CCTV because High Quality Videos Consumes Heavy Data & We need more storage to store that which is really problematic.

As we know that any CCTV camera not records HD or 4K videos because the HD or 4K videos are records in high resolution mode. The CCTV cameras are work 24-hours in a day and if you never going to stop, it will not stop. And if the videos are recorded high quality, it’s take more space on our system Hard-drive or Hard-disk. According to this the system hard drive going to full easily and fast and if the hard drive is full. It will not store more footages than their space or storage. That’s by their videos are very compressible and low in their qualities. CCTV cameras is not place near by the people or things, that’s by it is not recognized proper voice and not record proper sounds also.

That's why most of the recordings of CCTV are Black & White & Low Quality.
