All Mobile network Providers of India || 15+ Network Providers in India || History behind Telecommunication Brands in India

How many network providers we know in current time in India, these are just in numbers which are Airtel, Jio, Vi Mobiles (Vodafone Idea) & BSNL

But you don’t know that we had a number of Network/Telecom Companies in India which were more than 15 in numbers but because of many problems with those communication providers, they got vanished. We rarely know the names of Vanished Telecom operators but don’t worry:

1. Airtel (Bharti Airtel): Airtel is purely an Indian Company founded in 7th July 1995 by Sunil Bharti Mittal. It has over 320 million of users in worldwide. Along with the Telecommunication Facilities, Airtel also provides DTH, OTT Platform, Banking, Music & other services

2. Reliance Jio: Reliance Jio is the most famous Telecommunication brand in India founded in 15th February 2007 with the name of Reliance Industries, but its success was started from 5th September 2016 which strongly shook the whole other Telecommunication Company’s roots and become the most rapidly increasing user base company. It has increased from zero to more than 400 million users in just 5 years. Jio is the reason behind the Cheap & easily accessible mobile & Broadband data in India. Apart from the Telecommunication Part, it also has Mobile Brand naming LYF, Fiber Services, Social, Digital Platforms etc.

3. Vodafone: Vodafone is an UK Based company which was founded in 1994. Along with Airtel & Jio, Vodafone also has its separate user base in India. Vodafone has been merged with Idea Cellular in 2018 but that time both companies were operating its business on separate basis but in 2020, it becomes one and Operating with new name which is Vi (Vodafone Idea Limited). Vodafone is also providing Music, OTT and other services like as Airtel. First Vodafone took over Hutch Telecommunication and then Idea

4. Idea: Idea was one of the most popular brands it its early years. The Data rates of Idea were so low before Jio was launched. Idea cellular was founded in 1995 in India. Idea was famous for extra special packs in Data and Calling field. Now, Idea has been merged with Vodafone in 2018 and operating as Vi (Vodafone Idea)

5. BSNL/MTNL: BSNL & MTNL are the Government’s Telecommunication Brands in India. The Rates of Plans in BSNL & MTNL are so low but the services are also not satisfying. The internet speed, calling quality & slow Updation makes these brands backward in the race. It was founded in 2000.

6. Reliance Communication: Reliance Communication was founded in 2004 in India by Anil Ambani. When Airtel provided 1 GB data in 300 Rs. Before Jio, Reliance provides the same plan under 200 which is why Reliance Communication was one of the most using brand in early years but now its was closed and shut because of the losses.

7. Aircel: Aircel was Indian Mobile Telecommunication Company founded in 1999 in Tamilnadu, India. There was a time when Aircel used to sell SIM Cards at just Rs. 20 just to increase its user base. It comes with amazing rate cutter packs specially in Voice packs which attracts users very much. It also sponsored Chennai Super Kings in IPL but the network quality & internet speed was so low because of which it vanished from market in 2018 because of Bankrupt.

8. Uninor/Telenor: Uninor or Telenor was most famous brand in North India specially in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. Uninor/Telenor was founded in 2009. It also comes with low Data packages like in Rs. 26/- you can use 1 GB of data for a week or month in that time when Airtel used to sell 1 GB data in 300. The Network coverage and plans were amazing but slow technology adaptations and low income closed the company. Now the Uninor/Telenor is acquired by Bharti Airtel in 2018.

9. MTS India: MTS was the Joint venture and Indian Subsidiary of Russian Mobile Operator Company. MTS (Mobile Tele Systems) was founded in 2008. It jumped in India Communication Industries with Data Packages in Low rates. It’s the company which introduced cheapest Dongle Based Internet Connection for Desktops & Laptops. It also entered in SIM Facility based network providing services but failed. Finally, it closed it services in 2017

10. Tata Docomo: Tata Docomo was the subsidiary of Tata Teleservices and in partnership company of Japan based company NTT Docomo. Docomo launched cheap Dongle based Internet Communication but due to less technology adaptations and low quality of services, it merged with Airtel in 2019

Above Mentioned are the most famous Telecommunication Companies in the History of India. Some of them were closed or merged with big companies and some of the are running with good profits.

Apart from these companies, India has more other Telecommunication which has been merged with Other Companies or Closed. Those are:
