Basic of Tally ?

Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is an Indian multinational company that provides enterprise resource planning software. It is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka India. The company reports that its software is used by more than 1.8 Million customers. It was founded in 1986by Shyam Sunder Goenka & Bharat Goenka.

There are numerous software's are available in the market like Busy, Marg etc. but Tally ERP has its own separate identity.

What is Tally Prime ?

We are using Tally from Version 3.0. Now the version we are using is Tally ERP 9. Tally is going to change its version from ERP9 to other. It may possible that the new version may call ERP18 but we have to wait till 9th November 2020

Tally is launching its New Version Tally Prime as on dated 9th November 2020

What are the major changes in Tally Prime ?

1. Tally is going to change its interface. New Viewing panel & brand new Interface/Layout will be in Tally Prime

2. Tally Prime will going to support some Mouse Features. We all know that we don't required mouse to use Tally. Its just the game of Keyboard. But the new Tally Prime will comes with some features where we required Mouse as well

3. New navigation Panel

4. Most Important Button: GO TO. Tally Prime will comes with Go To Button from where an user can directly jump into the required features just typing the feature name. Eg. If I am looking for Cash Flow feature but not able to find. So, what I will do is: I will just Type Cash Flow in the Go To Search bar then Tally Prime will automatically redirect me to the cash flow panel. This is the Search Button on  Tally.

5. Now you can navigate any reports wherever you are in the Tally screen. If I am in the Bank reconciliation panel but want to see the Trial Balance. Now, instead of pressing ESC button, I can directly jump into the Trial Balance with one click 

6. Multi Tasking. Eg. Now you can Pass Purchase entry if you are doing Contra entry on other side. No need to Cancel the pursuing Task

8. Easy Navigation: Now use Mouse & Keyboard as per your convenience

9. Browsers Supports with lots of internal features

10. No need to copy/paste the Tally Data Path. Tally Prime comes with the Internal Path finder from where you can directly look into the Folders of Computer and select the Path of the Required Tally Data

11. Now Tally prime supports Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V features like what we do in Microsoft Files. Earlier,  To Copy and Paste in Tally we have to press Ctrl+Alt+C & Ctrl+Alt+V. Now we don't need to remember separate shortcuts for Windows & Tally

12. Handle Multi State GST in a single Data

13. Another Greatest Feature: Just Save your GST User ID & Password in Tally Prime. Tally will do the rest reporting & Filing for you. Direct upload of GST1 Data, Reporting generation from Tally etc.

What are the requirements to get New Update of Tally Prime ?

1. Tally Prime will only work on 64 Bit Windows Operating System. So, you need to updated your PC from 32 to 64 bit

2. If yo have Tally Licensed version then you will get free update of Tally Prime but for New User, you have to purchase it separately

3. It also Required TSS Feature in your existing Tally to get the Free Update

Good News for Students ?

Students will get the free of cost Tally Prime Subscription for Limited period. Its depends on the Tally's Policy. We have to wait for a little for the full news about Tally Prime Update for Students. Students can download the free Tally Prime from Tally Solutions Website

For initial testing, Tally will provide the update for its corporate clients. First they will test and then after the Final testing it will rollout for the rest of the world.
