We again comes with the latest update on Whats App Application. Its a good news for everyone that From Now onwards we can use payments feature on Whats App. Whats app is also working as a mobile payment applications through which we can make payments like what we are doing through Google Pay, Paytm & Phone Pay.
Whats app has more than 5 Billion users worldwide. It has 400 Million active users in India. Whats App launched many feature on Whats App from its first launch like Video Calling, Voice Calling, Location Sharing, File Transfers etc. Now in this digital world where technology is changing on daily basis, Whats app also thought about Updation and brings the Payment Feature on Whats App which makes easier for users to pay directly through Whats App instead of using a separate application.
This story begins from 2018 when Whats App launched Payment feature but to rollout throughout the country they needs the Beta Testing and Approval of NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India). NPCI is the government body who launched BHIM UPI gateway. Now after the 2 years of beta testing among 1 Million users, its finally ready to jump into the crowd of Indian Population with a Bang. Its make easier & convenient experience for users to make payments while doing chatting or calling. No need to Close Whats App, No need to open another application. Just Scan any QR Code whether of Paytm UPI, Google Pay, Phone Pay and make payments on the go.
How to make payments from Whats App ?
We don't need to download any separate application to make payments from Whats App. You can setup the payment feature on existing Whats App Messenger and start making payments.
Just Follow the following steps to activate Whats App payments in your Whats App Application:
(Note: It may possible that Whats App Payment Feature not available on your Account for now. Don't worry, Whats App will release an update and then you can setup the feature easily):
Step 1: Open WhatsApp Application on your smartphoneStep 2: Click on the three-dotted option in Top Right Side and tap on 'Payments" Options
Step 3: Select 'Add payment method'.
Step 4: Select your bank from the list on which UPI is service is available
Step 5: Click on 'Verify via SMS'.
The app will run a mobile number verification. You need to make sure that you are using the same mobile number on WhatsApp that is associated with your bank.
Step 6: After the verification process, you will be asked to select your bank account. Select your bank account and click on 'Done'.
Step 7: Now, you can initiate a payment by selecting a chat and choosing 'Payments' from attachments
