Popular Google Products & Services which Failed with Time || Failed Services of Google

Google is one of the most important part of our daily life. Maybe, it can be possible we will not be able to think our daily activities on which google is not included. From Surfing of Internet or using our smartphones, we call see google everywhere. The popularity of google is on peak now days.


But the back story behind this success is not that easy. Google team has also gone through many losses & failures on their many products & services. 

So, today we will give you knowledge about 10 google services which google introduced but didn’t get that popularity, lost its importance or people haven’t heard about them and google has to close them. 

Let’s Start:

1. Google Nexus: There was a time when Nexus smartphones are the core of latest features in Android Smartphones. LG, Google, HTC, Motorola used Nexus Series and got popularity and huge revenue. But with introduction of Latest Technology, Loss of HP, Motorola & HTC Smartphones & Cheap Chinese smartphone android technology, the Nexus series failed to serve more. It runs 5-6 years but after then it’s stopped and now Nexus series smartphones are not available in the market. The last nexus series were Google Nexus 7.

2. Google Talk: You can remember the Google Talk application which comes with every android smartphone between 2008 to 2017. This offers the same feature what Google Hangout, Google Meet, Duo, Google Allo are providing now (but in lesser level). After the introduction latest messenger & video calling applications, Google Talk lost its popularity and got closed in 2017 



3. Orkut: We can say that before Facebook, Orkut was the most popular social media service on internet, from 2004 to 2014, Orkut has the monopoly in the market. Everyone was the fan of this service. But introduction of Facebook & other services, Orkut lost it’s popularity & value and finally stopped by google as on dated 30th September 2014

4. Google Allo: After Orkut, Google launched its messenger service/application naming Google Allo. The Look & features of Allo were stunning with great Google’s colorful interface. It only served us for 3 years from 2016 to 2019. Google Allo was not that popular among latest messenger applications and google has to stop it and finally in March 2019 it’s closed officially. 



5. Picasa: Online Photo Editor & Image saver application & web service by Google was Picasa. It also gets lots of popularity in the beginning but popularity of Photoshop and other applications forfeited its market and google shut it down in 2016 



6. Google Videos: Before You Tube, Google videos was operating in market. At the same time Microsoft, Yahoo & Viacom video platforms were in the market. We can still remember that there was a time when like Google Images, we can open separate Google Web Page naming Google Videos. We could search videos and watch online. But with popularity of Youtube, Google took it’s most famous step: They Bought You Tube at 1.65 Billion in 2006. Now the You Tube is not just the name but the brand. With this, Google closed its video services naming Google Videos in 2012

7. Google Goggles: Google Goggle is the older version of Google Lens through which we could search Image Components just by clicking picture. Like Google Lens. It offers Picture search facility. But the Service, Poor internet speed & Internet unavailability failed this service. Then Google launched Google Lens which is quite popular these days

8. Google Plus (+): To give competition to Facebook, Google launched Google plus in 2011. Google plus comes with many features of Facebook, Twitter & Instagram but because of the Privacy & Security Concerns, Google had to stop this service and finally closed in 2019 



9. Google Latitude: The service which even What’s App is providing now days was offering by Google Latitude then. It offers you to share your location on Google Maps via a Google Account. Now, it’s replaced with Google Map & Facebooks Location Services

10. Bump: Bump was the services used by both Google & Apple. This was one of the best file sharing application in iPhones. It’s an application which allows you to share photos & files with other people. The same service which Share It used to provide. Then Google bought Bump Technologies and changes the whole app functionality. Then the rest is history.
